Getting up every morning knowing I will solve a challenge that has never been attempted before – Well that’s how most of the employees in CoinDCX feel. There is a thrill, a curiosity and an immense sense of accomplishment in every new initiative. At CoinDCX, we are extremely proud to know that we are creating history and will be known as one of the forerunners of the Indian Crypto industry.
We understand this opportunity and leading the People function one thing that I am very clear about is that I want to build an organization that people aspire to build their careers with. To keep myself honest, I am starting a monthly blog to capture our achievements in the previous month and how we created a positive impact for our employees.
In December 2020, we announced our Series B round of funding where we raised INR 100 crores from some returning and some new investors. This provides a huge stimulus to implementing our growth plan and building a team that takes us to the next level. Some of the functions where we will see significant growth in the coming months are Technology, Marketing & Customer Service.
On the employee benefits front, we took first of the many steps towards enabling financial support to our employees & their families in case of medical emergencies. All our employees & their family members are now covered under the Group Hospitalisation Policy. They also have access to a Doctor on call facility, to engage in and seek medical advice from the comfort of their home. We will continue to enrich this benefit and the next milestone we are looking at is to introduce the Life Insurance Policy.
As we gear up to increase our team size from 90 to 150 in the next 6 months, we significantly ramped up our hiring efforts in December. We released 19 Job offers across different teams last month and are looking at similar numbers in the months to come. This number is significant for a Company our size and speaks of the exponential pace we are growing at. I personally can’t wait to welcome our new team members and the diverse skills and thought process. We also onboarded 3 new employees in Growth, Business & Marketing who will all be leading efforts to grow our brand and reach.
Keeping with our tradition of monthly employee virtual get-togethers and bringing some innovative activity every time, we invited Ms. Shashi Dhiman, popularly known as the Sassy Girl, a stand up comic artist, who was nothing less than a riot. We shared some candid moments amidst her jokes and as we celebrated our monthly performers and their achievements, Shashi reminded us of the joys of mindless laughter that makes one’s jaw hurt.
The last year has been extremely testing for many of us. Like everyone else, we evolved into working from home from mid-March. With the year-end approaching, some of us decided to end the year by taking a workation. And what better place to do that, other than in Goa. 15 of us worked from Goa in the last 10 days of the year and I have to say there couldn’t have been a better way to bid adieu to the year. I got to meet a lot of my colleagues for the first time, had the chance to connect with them outside work. Honestly, I was blown away by the quality of talent we have and how much they have accomplished in their own space – that’s a story we can come back to some other day. I ended the year re-energized & committed to building an organization that our star talent deserves and with my notepad full of milestones I want to achieve in the next three months..
